Celebrating 111 Years of the Women’s Institutes! Wednesday, 16th September 2026 10:30 am – 3:00 pm Jordans Mill, Southill Rd, Broom, Biggleswade SG18 9JX Come and join us as we mark 111 years of the WI! This special day will feature a beautiful display of WI Birthday Card designs from across Bedfordshire, proudly showcasing the rich history, creativity, and community spirit that the Women’s Institute is known for. 🎡 Plus, enjoy all that Jordans Mill has to offer! Take a tour of the historic mill, enjoy tea and coffee in the café, browse the shop, or simply relax and soak in the atmosphere. Admission is free, so bring your fellow members and friends for a day full of memories, inspiration, and celebration. Let’s make this a day to remember – see you there! No need to book a place to WI day, but if you wish to participate in the WI Day Challenge you will need to apply. Celebrate the WI by creating a WI Birthday card to be judged by other members at WI Day, the 16th of September. Your WI birthday card can be made in any medium, so be as creative as you can. The card must be able to stand up on its own and be no bigger than a folded A4 sheet. This challenge is free to enter, and you will be using your own materials. Each WI can enter a maximum of 5 cards. This year, WI members will be voting on their favourite card by placing pennies into a jar by each card. This will then be donated to our charity of the year. The cards will need to be delivered to the WI House before the day of the event, so please bear in mind that they will be handled by us. Contact the office if you have any further questions.
