COOKERY CRAFT & GARDEN SUB-COMMITTEE EVES TROPHY COMPETITION 2026 Entries to be displayed on WI Day at Jordans Mill 16th September 2026 Competition schedule and application form available under downloads. Please provide which class/ classes you will be entering CLASSES 1. Jar of Home-Made Jam any flavour. 2. 3 Hand Knitted Cup Cakes. 3. Miniature Garden in a container no bigger than 30cm x 30cm x 10cm. 4. Novice Class Children’s Bookmark. Please refer to the rules for a full description of the requirements. General Rules A certificate will be awarded to the winner in each class and the trophy presented for the best entry in the competition at the Annual Council Meeting 2027. Each WI must send in a complete list of entries on the special entry form provided with an entrance fee of £3 per item to WI House. Items must be clean and unused and made by the member during the last 12 months. Each item must be clearly marked with your name and delivered to WI House by Monday 14th September 2026 by 1pm. The entries will be displayed at Jordans Mill, Broom on 16th Sept 2026. Entries can be collected from WI House from Monday 21st September during opening hours. Classes 1 – 3 are open to all members Class 4 Novice is open to members who have never won a prize in a County Competition. The judge’s is decision is final. Whilst every care will be taken of exhibits, the Committee cannot be responsible for any loss or damage from any cause whatever. Class Rules Class One - Homemade Jam The jar should be filled to within 3 mm of the rim. The jam must be covered with a waxed paper circle cut to size, followed by a cellophane cover (fabric covers are not permitted). The jar must be clearly labelled with the type of jam and the date it was made. A separate label containing your name and WI number may be attached to the base of the jar—please do not include these details on the main label. Class 2 – Knitted Cup Cakes The cupcakes should be knitted by hand and suitably sized to resemble a cupcake. Class 3 - Miniature Garden The plants and other garden accessories to be displayed in any container measuring no more than 30 cm × 30 cm and 10 cm in height. Entrants are not required to make the container. Class 4 – Novice class – Children’s Bookmark Entries may be made using any medium. The bookmark must be suitable for practical use. No Refunds will be made once the booking has been received
